I'm an Aussie who now splits my time between Australia, London and Bali. Growing up in Australia, my childhood was filled with typical Aussie pastimes: weekend sports, camping trips, and a lot of time outdoors. I was a creative kid, but I struggled with math and spelling, I was later diagnosed with dyslexia at 14. Early on, I leaned heavily into my creative side, feeling pretty traumatized by anything to do with numbers. Little did I know, I'd eventually come to appreciate them through the journey of owning my own business.
At 18, I launched my first business as a makeup artist, and by 19, I'd started a second business as a wedding and family photographer after completing my design degree. I was full of enthusiasm but had a lot to learn about running a business. Then, the world called—I left Australia to travel with my now-husband, Mark. We explored South America, lived for a year in Vancouver, Canada, and then set off to Europe, eventually settling in London in 2007.
In 2010, Mark and I launched a chartered design practice, specialising in the fields of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. It wasn't long before I then started a property business taking on our own renovations, new builds, project management, interior design, and asset management.
My biggest growth period was when I had my first business coach and my life did a 360. This was at 31 years old and now thinking back, imagine if I had someone in my corner at a younger age who could have guided me. Although I enjoy revitalizing old Victorian buildings, I've come to realize my true calling is helping people. With my years of business experience and the insights I've gained from my coaches, I want to make a meaningful impact on teens as they begin their own journeys.
There is so much pressure on teens to choose what they want from their lives at such a young age, and I remember that time as a really scary space with immense pressure on what I should do with my life, but there is little focus on the other areas in our life that make a well rounded happy life. My objective is to help our youth feel more secure in themselves with clear goals in all areas of their lives. Not just the thing that makes us money. Life has so many different facets to it that each need attention for a well-rounded life.
